The Victorian University Directors of IT (VDIT) is a collaborative community-of-practice group of Chief Information Officers (or equivalent) of universities with a presence in the states of Victoria and Tasmania.
VDIT provides for the interchange of ideas and promotion of excellence in the delivery of information and communication technology (ICT) services in the higher education and research sector (HE&R). VDIT acts as a forum for relevant and mutually beneficial engagement with partners – both public and private sector, including the state governments and its agencies.
VDIT runs an annual forum to showcase and further develop excellence in the use of ICT. You can find out more about the next and past VDIT forums here.
VDIT also progresses collaborative initiatives or projects which benefit the sector. Projects are selected on the basis of providing service or cost benefits to members. Significant collaborative initiatives include the establishment of communities-of-practice in particular discipline areas such as Cybersecurity. These communities-of-practice share (where appropriate) valuable expertise, experience, plans, policies and practices within their field of interest.
VDIT acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands where we live, learn and work. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of all First Nations people.
